In Peru, the first-level administrative subdivisions are called Departments (Spanish: departamentos). Peru is divided into 24 departments, plus 1 Constitutional Province (Callao) and 1 Lima Province. These departments are also frequently referred to informally or administratively as Regions (regiones)
