What GeoCoach is

GeoCoach is an online learning platform for GeoGuessr. It teaches you how to identify countries and regions from Google Street View by combining three things: structured country & meta theory, interactive quizzes built on real Street View imagery, and spaced repetition so the clues you struggle with come back until you own them.

Where Plonkit is a static wiki and LearnableMeta is a map library with script support, GeoCoach is a training loop. Read a country guide, drill the clues as quiz cards, see the ones you miss again tomorrow. The goal is fewer "I've seen this clue before but can't place it" moments mid-round.

GeoCoach is not Geocaching

GeoCoach (geocoach.me) is unrelated to geocaching, the outdoor GPS treasure-hunting hobby run by Groundspeak. The names sound alike but the two have no relationship — different activity, different audience, different organisation. If you came here looking to hunt physical caches in the woods, you want geocaching.com. If you came here to get better at GeoGuessr, you are in the right place.

Why?

GeoCoach started in 2025 out of frustration with how scattered learning resources were: one site had bollards, another had country pages, a third had maps, and none of them remembered which clues you had already mastered. GeoCoach pulls those into one place and adds a memory system on top.

What you can do here

  • Theory hub — country-by-country identification guides covering road furniture, bollards, license plates, language, landscape and rare clues.
  • Maps practice — street-view and region-clicking practice on curated and community maps, with guided Learn mode for every map.
  • Daily challenge — a fresh round every day to keep your recall sharp.
  • Target Practice — spaced repetition over the locations you got wrong, scheduled so the hardest ones come back most often.
  • Materials — cheatsheets and study resources contributed by the community.
